Karla DeCamp - Founder/President
My Dad was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2010. He was treated at Island Hospital and the Cancer Care Center in Anacortes. In the many days he spent at the hospital I would often have an overwhelming feeling like I needed to help in some way.
My Dad passed away in January of 2012, his name was Barnel Bragg. I created Your Story Foundation in his memory.

I’m truly grateful to serve on the board of the Your Story Foundation, the heartfelt grassroots organization Karla created right here in Anacortes to support our neighbors and friends battling cancer. Karla has been a dear friend for many years, and I’m constantly amazed by her vision and compassion in building something so special and needed in our community.
When I was lost in my grief and didn’t know what to do with all that heavy energy, The Anacortes Cancer Walk gave me a meaningful place to pour it. It became a lifeline that turned my pain into purpose. Now, being part of this warm, dedicated group of people fills my soul. There’s nothing better than working together with such caring hearts, all focused on helping our neighbors and friends when they need it most.
It’s a privilege I cherish every day.

We have all been touched by this disease in some way or another. Experienced triumphs and unfortunate sorrows. Being an Anacortes native, I am feeding my soul by giving back to this community I so greatly adore. All the hard work and devoted individuals of our community that participate make an impact on where they live, Anacortes! I am so honored to be part of this foundation and what it stands for.
