anacortes cancer walk
The Anacortes Cancer Walk is an annual walk in late August located in beautiful Anacortes, Washington. A 10 mile walk starting and ending at Seafarers Memorial Park, the course is designed for all levels of fitness. You can walk a portion of it or the whole thing.
What makes this walk unique is that 100% of the funds raised stays local. 100% of the proceeds go to the Medical Relief Fund at Merle Cancer Care Center at Island Hospital in Anacortes.
The Merle Cancer Care Center Medical Relief Fund is an assistance fund that provides $800.00 per patient for any medical related cost such as medical supplies, medications, uncovered medical bills, transportation or fuel costs to make appointments, etc. Patients are made aware of the fund when they meet with staff on diagnosis. There is no proof of need required. The mission is to take some stress away at a very stressful time by meeting a financial need.
